In this video Andrea Bowers and Mary Weatherford discuss what led them to the exhibition ‘Drink The Wild Air’ at Capitain Petzel, on view through August 19, 2023.
Their conversation draws attention to the artists long-standing friendship and mutual admiration weaving their distinctive artistic practices together. Both are emphatically feminist—in Weatherford's work it is the gestural act of large-scale abstract painting, Bowers’ feminism manifests in the form of activism and non-violent civil disobedience.
