FAI presents at Villa e Collezione Panza Another Look. Works from the Gemma Testa Collection , open to the public from 11 April to 12 October 2025.
The exhibition inaugurates a cycle of exhibitions dedicated to collecting , understood as an expression of a thought, of an identity, as an instrument of investigation, a key to understanding the present and a cultural practice with educational value. With this objective, the FAI will cyclically bring important private art collections to the exhibition spaces of the Villa: other collections that reveal “other points of view” compared to that of Giuseppe Panza di Biumo, which is reflected so precisely in the permanent collection of Villa Panza and in the installation he himself created, to make this place exemplary in telling who a collector is and what it means to collect .
The exhibition will be an opportunity to enjoy works by great names in contemporary art, sometimes never exhibited to the public, even very distant from the style that characterizes the Panza collection, which will remain exhibited in the historic spaces of the house-museum. The intention of the FAI, after all, is that from this juxtaposition a comparison arises spontaneously, not so much between the two collections and between the two personalities that reflect them, but between two researches, two visions, two ways of collecting that are also very different from each other, yet united by an inexhaustible passion for knowledge and a constant striving for excellence in quality, which move every collector, but which are virtuous attitudes in general, teaching and inspiring for anyone who approaches art and culture.
