Maria Lassnig

Mit einem Tiger schlafen is the title of a painting by the painter Maria Lassnig. The film of the same name is dedicated to the life of this Austrian artist who only rose to fame and honor late in life. The director portrays Lassnig as a radical loner, always ready to challenge her counterparts, but who at the same time is often on the verge of despair. The artist is played by the actress Birgit Minichmayr. After the screening of the film (2024, 107 minutes), we will talk to the director Anja Salomonowitz about the very unique, poetic film language.
